"THE PANTONE 2017 COLOR OF THE YEAR IS THE WORLD'S BRIGHTEST NEUTRAL" – Elle Decor
The announcement of Pantone's Color of the Year is something designers from an array of industries all around the world anxiously await – in a sense, this selection sets the tone for the year and gives us a sneak preview of trends to look for throughout interior design, fashion, advertising, etc.
Take a look below at JPDG's design that fully embraced Pantone's Greenery:
Green hues have significant meanings and is often referred to as the color of life. Green is symbolic for nature, environment, freshness, rejuvenation, energy and harmony – just to name a few. Greenery is the dominant color in nature and is said to be the most restful and relaxing color for the human eye to view.
Clients ask JPDG all of the time if color is back and to that we respond with a definite yes! Greenery is a great segue into a colorful world because it is nature's neutral. It allows designers to incorporate color into the avid "neutral-is-life" clients home without the effects of color shock because Greenery is something that humans are already used to seeing everywhere in nature.
"The person who would adapt this color is the person who might be thinking, I need some change, something new and something fresh," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Being that Greenery is nature's neutral, it is a gateway to other fun colors that can tastefully be used in your homes interior design projects. Take a look below at some of the fun color pairings that Pantone has come up with:
The designers chose to carry the green and white over into the intimate breakfast nook complete with floor to ceiling tile and a glass top suspended from the window sill allowing the space to be free from a table base.
