First Big Purchase
Shortly after I graduated from college and started working back in Houston at JPDG, I was in an antique store searching for a piece for a client when I found these fabulous carved, high back chairs, circa 1920. They were far more than I was used to spending and I did not need them - but I LOVED them. I put a new blue and flame stitch fabric on the seat and brought these old chairs back to life and they have become a statement piece in my home.
When it comes to making selections for myself, it is nearly impossible! I can make selections for clients all day long without second guessing. I recently bought my first house and when deciding on a fabric for my Sam Moore sofa, I twisted on it for weeks!! When I finally make decisions for myself, I tend to lean towards clean lines & neutral colors. I like to incorporate a few statement-making pieces, whether they are old or new, allowing my personality to shine through in the space.
One of the most challenging projects I have worked on also became one of my favorite. A client we worked with previously came to us with the challenge of making the master bathroom in their new home spa like, functional & private. The space was incredibly small and filled with windows. With the request of two vanities, the project seemed impossible. We started with developing a new space plan that met all the functional needs of this young couple. We then began making finish selections that would visually expand the space. With bright whites, soft grays, reflective materials and linear elements – the space was complete and the outcome is one of my favorite spaces to date - pictured below!
Favorite Part about JPDG
I am one of those lucky people that gets to say they LOVE their job. I know that is a rarity and I am so grateful. I enjoy meeting new people every day. From new clients to vendors to contractors and other designers - I am constantly getting to know different walks of life. I love that design is ever changing!! Jane Page encourages us to learn about new products and to challenge ourselves to implement them into our designs. Last, I work with the greatest people and the most talented designers that always challenge me, encourage me and make laugh every day!!

This modern bathroom provides a stunning escape into pure luxury. The white and silver cut glass mosaics facing the vanity wall coupled with the gray and white marble chevron floor, create an exquisite spa-like atmosphere. The slatted cabinet door design carries out the linear characteristics of the tile patterns. Partially textured windows provide privacy while still allowing an abundance of light. Acrylic and polished nickel light fixtures and suspended mirrors finish the space beautifully.
