This 1930s theater was purchased and renovated to become the new office space and showroom of Media Systems, a well known audio visual/home entertainment firm. JanePage Design Group was hired for the interior design. Art deco elements were designed and incorporated throughout, creating a fun and vibrant space. Shaped ceiling details and side-wall pilasters give interest to the large theater. The pilasters are topped with custom designed iron and acrylic light fixtures.

An architectural Deco gate inspired the design details in this space. Cloth panels in arched area enhance acoustics and surround sound. Behind the motorized screen drapery is a stage designed for the children and their musical instruments for concerts and recitals. Form glass “Deco” crown on three ceiling levels hand finished with gold leaf completes the look for entertaining in the Art Deco style.
Stunning paneled pilasters and a coordinating valance were designed to wrap the room. Mahogany was selected to tie in with the finish on the existing speakers, and a gorgeous Sycamore wood was selected for an interesting contrast. Black and stainless accents were applied to add a touch of sheen and excitement. The ceiling beam detail was dictated by a structural beam that could not be moved, and also by the location of accent lighting. Lighting was crucial to the overall design. Low voltage lights were carefully placed at the edge of each pilaster and along the front valance to bring life to the luxurious woods and fabrics. Sculptural iron sconces were centered in each wall panel for added drama. Incandescent rope lighting was also built in on the interior of the front cabinets, which housed CDs and DVDs.
